

Charles David DeGagne
Charles David DeGagne passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 11, 2016 at Birchwood Terrace Nursing Home following a short illness. He was 74 years of age.
He is survived by his wife Mary of 48 years, his four sons, Daniel of Vancouver, B.C., P. Jeffrey (Jocelyn) grandsons Kyle and Jacob of Keewatin, and Sean, grandchildren Paige and Ethan of Beaumont, Alberta and Ian of Keewatin, Ontario.
Also survived by a brother Gerald and family, sisters Lorraine and family and Diane, brothers and sisters in law, Robert (Gayle) Langer and family, Donald (Jacquie) Langer and family, Margaret (Howard) Bryce and family and Harold (Joyce) Langer and family, many cousins, nieces and nephews and special godson Rene Hendrickson.
Predeceased by his parents Louis and Lucienne DeGagne.
Chuck worked for CP Rail for a few years, then was employed by Boise Cascade Paper Mill until an accident forced “early retirement" in 1975.
He enjoyed living “out in the sticks” puttering outdoors and faithfully fed his wildlife.
Chuck was a member of the Keewatin Legion. A member of the Knights of Columbus- 4th Degree.
A member of St. Louis Roman Catholic Church in Keewatin and spent many, many hours doing volunteer work there.
Immediate cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service and Mass will be celebrated by Father Allen Abadines at 11:00 a.m. on January 6, 2017 at St. Louis Roman Catholic Church in Keewatin under the care of the Knights of Columbus with lunch to follow in the church hall. Burial to follow at Lake of the Woods Cemetery.
No flowers please, in honour of Charles, donations made be made to Development and Peace, Lake of the Woods District Hospital, Birchwood Terrace Nursing Home or the Salvation Army would be greatly appreciated.
