“Keezhkwankwat” of Wabaseemoong/Kenora
Mooz Dodem - Moose Clan
September 23, 1980 – July 29, 2026
It is with great profound sadness that the family of Fitzpatrick announce the passing of our Father, Son, Grandfather, Brother, and Uncle on July 29, 2026, at the age of 45.
Fitzpatrick was known to his family and friends as “Fitz” or “Fitzy” was born in Kenora and lived his life in Wabaseemoong and Kenora. Fitz spent most of his early years living in Wabaseemoong where he attended Wabaseemoong School. Later in life, after years of struggles, he returned to secondary school where he obtained a certificate in culinary from Seven Generations, where he turned one of his greatest hobbies into something great, his love for cooking.
Fitz lived in Whitedog as a young boy and was raised by his grandmother whom he called “Mom”. Fitz was really loved by his paternal family that he remained close to and often visited on special occasions to cook. He was by his grandmas (“Mom”) sides on her last day. Fitz was a very loving and fun child. He made friends easily and got along with anyone that came into his life. He always had a helping hand to the point that he had become a Crisis Intervention volunteer. He then met the mother of his children and at that time he had moved away to Kenora to start his own family and to be close to his mother and siblings.
Fitz also had many other hobbies such as camping, going for walks, drawing, gambling, attending powwows, traveling with his mom and siblings, and visiting with his family and friends. Fitz has quite a sense of humour, always telling jokes and playing pranks on friends and loved ones. He had a laugh and a smile that could make anyone’s day so much better.
However, Fitz greatest joys were his children. He loved all his children with everything he had. When Fitz spoke of them, it was always with such great pride and would never go without telling them every chance he had. Cuddles and singing to them is what he loved most. The proudest moments were also when he first became a papa to his beautiful granddaughter. His children and granddaughter were the light of his life.
