March 15, 1939 – April 17, 2019
Glen Andrew Alfred Johnson passed away on Wednesday, April 17th 2019 at Pinecrest Home for the Aged at the age of 80.
Glen is survived by his children, Michael (Tami), Melodie (Gerald), Andrea, Eric (Cindy), Patricia, Dorothy (Kevin) and Jana. Grandchildren Kirkland, Erica, Andrea, Aren, Kendra and Nicole. One great grandson Kane.
Dad grew up on the Lake of the Woods, enjoying many happy hours out at the family camp on Flatrocker Island.
Dad worked hard driving trucks, loading trucks and building roads. He was always so proud of being a part of the Devlin Timber crew. He will be wearing his Devlin Timber hat and watch when he meets his old friends Joe and Ben.
Dad loved life and knew how to live it. He drew people to him like a magnet. When he moved to Pinecrest he continued to build friendships with the staff and residents. If friendships were measured in money, he was a billionaire!
He had celebrated his 80th birthday in March and could not believe the people that showed up. He would like to leave this world with his friends thinking about that day rather than having a funeral.
The family would like to thank all those people that dropped in for a visit with him during his time in the hospital and Pinecrest, and for the excellent care provided by the Pinecrest staff. He always said the care was 100%.
A special thank you to Marion Jackson and Charlotte Lougheed for being there when Dad needed extra support.
In lieu of flowers a donation to Pinecrest Home for the Aged would be greatly appreciated by the family.
