It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and uncle Gordon, who passed away peacefully at Lake of the Woods District Hospital on March 17, 2019 at the age of 67.
He was born on September 14, 1951 at One Man Lake, Ontario.
Gordon was a devoted father, a grandpa who loved his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren dearly. He also loved his friends very much.
He loved taking photos of his surroundings, enjoyed the outdoors and visiting his family and friends, he also enjoyed all various sports and watching hockey on t.v. with his family, most of all he enjoyed his Facebook time. Gordon cared for foster children in a group home in Wabaseemoong. He had a passion for cooking.
He was predeceased by his children Allison and Barrett Bunting and former spouse Jessie Paishk-Bunting, his parents Jim and Ida Bunting, grandparents, Jacob and Annie McDonald (Bigblood), sister Josephine, brother John, uncles Cornelius, Simon and George McDonald Sr., nieces Hushie, Annette and Elizabeth.
Gordon is survived by his wife Tara Bunting, daughters Ramona (Ron) and Valene, his grandchildren, Alyssa, Renae, Julie & Clyde, great grandchildren, Leondre, Gwen, Kalo, Jrue and Renley, his siblings, George, Norman, Mary and James, nieces and nephews Rocky (Gretchen), Darlene (Larry), Jeffrey, Brandon (Judy), Jennifer (Mike), David (Cheyenne), Adrian, Ronnie, Harvey, Darnell, David K., Elaine K (Jaret), Mary, Elaine M., Candice, Nadine, Joni, Jazanne, John Jr. and Jeonni.
The family would like to thank Birchwood Terrace Nursing staff and the ICU staff for taking care of our beloved Gordon.
A Wake will be held on Wednesday, March 20, 2019 starting at 1:00 p.m. at the Miizhakiiwetung Memorial School in Whitedog First Nations.
Traditional Funeral Service will be held on Friday, March 22, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at the Miizhakiiwetung Memorial School in Whitedog First Nations with interment to follow in his home yard in Wabaseemoong.
