Gordon Leslie Paulson

April 28, 1955 -August 10, 2026

Gordon passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of his family at the age of 71

He was predeceased by his parents Elsie and Cecil Paulson, his in-laws Dorothy and Norman (Bud) Crowe, his sister and brother-in-law Sylvia and Ronnie Olson and brother-in-law Dale Pearson.

He leaves behind his best friend and partner of 52 years Della Crowe (Paulson),

his son Jeffrey (Janet) Paulson, granddaughters Finley Paulson and Allise Paulson, his daughter Shanalee Paulson, his daughter Angela Paulson (Scott Landry), his daughter Lindsay Paulson (Rolland Wallace), grandson Ryder Wallace and granddaughter Sierra Wallace.

He is also survived by his sisters Margaret Morgan, Fay (Rod) Balchin, Leanne (Mike) Klatt and Patty Pearson. His brother-in-law Brett Crowe, sister-in-law Evelyn Crowe, brother-in-law Dorn Crowe and sister-in-law Sheila Crowe. He also has many nieces and nephews who he cherished.

Gord loved his children and grandchildren, and they were the greatest joy of his life. He took pleasure in watching them grow. Whether it was Finley’s skating, Allise’s hockey, Sierras baseball or Ryders football he was there to cheer them on when he could. He liked to reminisce of his hockey and baseball coaching days.

Some of his happiest times were heading out on the lake to catch up with Jeff, Janet and the kids and to get out fishing. He was always proud of Jeff and never missed an opportunity to brag about his accomplishments.

Gord spent countless hours with Angela and Scott, out at their place, sharing in their everyday moments. He was the fixer of everything at the farm. His knowledge was vast. He loved the horses and made sure they had the best life. Twister, Taz and Ollie will continue to be cherished by our family in his honour.

When Lindsay and the kids were coming for the weekend he could hardly wait to see them. He was sad when they headed for home, even though they were only a short distance away in Steinbach. He was especially a very proud grandpa this year when Ryder was signed with the Manitoba Bisons Football Team at the University of Manitoba and had hoped to be there to see him play.

Gord loved his job driving big trucks and was still working when he was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma in 2024. He took pride is his work.

He was always busy and always had something on the go. Brett would watch for the garage door to open then head over to see what he was up to. One day the garage door closed forever and our lives changed.

He loved nature and animals of every kind especially the grand dogs and the family cats.

He had a great passion for the outdoors. When the kids were growing up we were always busy camping, fishing, exploring the lake and going on endless adventures everywhere. Snowmobiling in winter, ice fishing and hunting. There were always things to do.

For the kids he had an answer for any problem, and he was only a call away. His famous words were “Well that’s not going anywhere. “ Usually referring to a strapped down a load of hay or any piece of equipment on a trailer.

Safety came first.

As we remember Gord, we will be thankful for the life he shared with us and for all the things he taught his children along the way. For that they are strong and he was proud.

At his request there will be no formal service. He wanted to be remembered as he was, strong, healthy and full of life.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Our family would like to extend a heartfelt thankyou to the all the hospital staff. To his doctors, nurses, the chemo girls, and Char Melillo for their compassionate care, kindness and support throughout his journey.

Gord will be deeply missed, forever loved and always remembered.
