Guido Albert Mohr
Mr. Guido Albert Mohr, passed away on September 12, 2013 at Lake of the Woods District Hospital.
Guido immigrated to Canada when he was 21 years old with his parents after losing his two brothers in the war in Germany.
They settled in Kenora on the East highway and with the help from his life long friends, the family of Mac Morrison they built a house and got a job cutting wood. Guido later got a job with the department of highways till he retired. Guido enjoyed travelling and bought many RV’s and camper trailers, touring the country with his cat puss puss.
When Guido got too old to travel he moved to LacLu to enjoy lake life making many friends in the camp along with the many pets and animals he seemed to have a special touch for.
Guido’s final move was to Birchwood Terrace due to increasing health issues. The fantastic staff managed to get him balanced out and he enjoyed several more years laughing and joking and being treated like family from all the compassionate caregivers there.
As per Guido’s request there will be no service and anyone wishing to donate please give to the Cat Shelter.
We would like to give thanks to the wonderful staff at Birchwood Terrace and the Lake of the Woods District Hospital
