It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved Guy Hunter
A resident of Kenora and band member of Wabaseemoong First Nation. Guy passed away peacefully on August 5, 2018 at Lake of the Woods District Hospital at the age of 80 years.
He will be remembered by his children Eada, Madeline, Guy, Frank McDonald (Debbie).
Guy had 17 Grandchildren, 19 Great-grandchildren & 1 Great great-grandson, nieces & nephews too numerous to mention.
He was predeceased by his parents Frank and Alice Hunter, his wife Bertha McDonald his daughters Sarah & Doreen and son in law Jack, his grandsons Kevin, Rodney, Kaylon, Tyrone. His Brothers George, David, John, sisters Maria, Flora, & Catherine
Guy was born in Whitedog, he was an outgoing person he had many friends. he was a guide for most of his life, and taught his grandsons how to drive a boat and the river system. He enjoyed blueberry picking, and loved going to the casino to play slot machines. He also travelled with his buddy Waylon to go play cribbage. He was a residential school survivor, and would share his stories of his experience to all that he visited with.
The family would like to thank the staff at Lake of the Woods district hospital for taking good care of Guy. Wake services will be held at Wabaseemoong School gym at 3:00 PM on August 8, 2018
Traditional services will be held Friday August 10, 2018 at 11:00 am with burial to follow at Whitedog Cemetery.
