It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Janet Sinclair, at the age of 56 on March 16th, 2021 at Lake of the Woods District Hospital.
She is survived by the father of her children, Bernard Sinclair along with her four children Crystal (Rocky), Debbie, Stewart, and Amber; her grandchildren Elliot, Sunny, Zyon, Joley, Crysun, Aurelius, Rocklin, Arizona and great-grand child Gabriel. She will be deeply missed by her siblings Lucy, Jack (Lisa), Anita (Jimmie), Gina (Chris), Patricia (Richard), June (Bruce), Karen (Richard), Harry (Jackie), Kenneth Jr. (Holly), Troy, Catherine (Devin), Sophia (Murell), and Coral along with numerous nieces and nephews too many to mention. She is survived by her uncle Donald Sinclair; aunt Pam Sinclair along numerous cousins whom she grew up with who will cherish the many memories of her.
Janet was born at Lake of the Woods District hospital and was raised in Washagamis Bay First Nation. She was known for her warm, kind, and loving heart. She loved to cook and eat all kinds of foods but had a big sweet tooth for candies and pastry. She was known for making the #1 winning bannock and chili and would often get requests from family to make it. She enjoyed spending time outside, fishing on the lake, camping, or sitting beside a fire roasting weiners. Janet struggled throughout her lifetime but managed to get back up on her feet time and time again. She had a courageous spirit and her strength carried her to her final days; she can now rest.
Janet was predeceased by her father George Sinclair and mother Jane Indian, her uncles David Sinclair and Desmond Martin; and aunt Elizabeth Sinclair.
The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the nurses and doctors at Lake of the Woods District Hospital for their assistance in her time of need. Heartfelt thanks to everyone who helped in her final days, from sending prayers to hugs and visits.
A Funeral Service will be held at Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Centre on March 20, 2021 at 2:30pm with Pastor Frank Kowal officiating with interment to follow in Washagamis Bay First Nation.
