Obituary of John Morris Caux
John Morris Caux April 11 1954 – March 4, 2023 John, 68, unexpectedly passed away on Saturday March 4th, 2023. At the end of a work day, doing what he enjoyed most - driving the big trucks and hauling materials. John is survived by his daughters Sydney Caux, Tara Collinson, and his grandsons Jaxen and Cameron Savage. His brother Victor (Sylvia), Sisters Genvieve Brown (David, dec.), Yvonne Mowatt (Andrew, dec.), and Sharlene Caux. Also left to mourn are numerous cousins, nieces and nephews, brother-in-law Ross Johnson and lifelong friend Shirley Samson. Predeceased by his parents Jean & Elsie Caux, Fred & Jean Saunders and sister Gloria Saunders. John was raised in various small Manitoba communities, moving around many times due to his father’s commitment to the Church. Jean and Elsie moved their family to Kenora Ontario in 1965, where he grew up on the acreage at the end of Long Lake, on Carlton Road. John and Carol built their home on that farm property in 1990 and raised their family. In 1994 his pride and joy daughter Sydney was born. John enjoyed all the things outdoors – quadding around the neighborhood visiting – fishing, hunting, and gardening. If he was not enjoying those hobbies, you could find him tinkering on the toys or trying to complete many of his unfinished projects. He especially enjoyed the spring, watching the ice go out and waiting for the suckers to run. He would stop anything he was doing to take the kids for a quad ride, boat ride or two-hour trip behind the snowmachine on the giant crazy carpet. His love for his daughters was known to everyone, as he boasted of their accomplishments every chance he could. For most of his career, John was a truck driver. He had various employers throughout the years with special mention to the Moncrief family and most recently Shan Robertson @ LOTW Freight Service. John was a social butterfly and loved being around people. We will all remember the laughter and good times he brought to our lives. A celebration of life will take place when the sun is warmer and the beers are colder. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.brownfuneralhomekenora.com for the Caux family.
