On February 29, 2016 in his 80th year, Bud passed away peacefully surrounded by members of his family.
Bud struggled after a bad fall in November, along with many other health issues.
He was born in Brandon, Manitoba on September 26, 1936, the eldest in a family of six children.
Bud was predeceased by mother Jean, father John and brother Donald, in-laws Pearl and Erwin Lawlis. At a young age he started work with the CPR eventually moving to Kenora. This is where he met the love of his life Dot.
He leaves cherished memories for wife Dot, son Robert (Adele), grandson Johnathon and Mitchell, son Glen and daughter Jody and granddaughter Ceana. Bud loved being a Grammpa.
We both have many relatives on both sides too numerous to mention. Bud, family and friends spent many good times at the old camp he bought. It wasn’t long before he started renovating, adding on and planting flowers. As my sisters say it was a “real gem”. Many people used the camp being bright red
and white as a marker-that they were in the proper direction. At Bud’s request no service will be held.
A private family gathering will be held at a later date.
In memory of Bud, donations may be made to the Lake of the Woods District Hospital.
