Joyce Audrey Emlyn of Kenora, ON passed away on June 26, 2011 at the age of 72.

She is remembered lovingly by a brother, Dave (Avril) two sisters Linda (Gary) McGeachy and Carol (Harry) Brown and many nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by father William, mother Nettie, sister Jackie (Jack) Hendy, and brothers Robert (Carol) and Richard.

Joyce loved being with people and was known in the family for remembering birthdays of her siblings and their children, giving cards and special handmade gifts. Christmas was a time for giving also.

Swimming, skating, hiking trails and walking were things she enjoyed and participated in. She knit and crocheted many, many afghans as a pastime and at the request of her family.

A few pots of flowers in spring and early summer were always on her agenda to place outside her home and she would inquire as to when we could go down to the local garden centres to pick them up. She was always up for a side trip to the Dairy Queen and a little drive around.

She looked to help out wherever she could, volunteering in earlier years at Birchwood, clearing dishes at nearly every function she attended at her church. Her church and her friends and family there, were a big part of her life. The Kenora Association for Community Living provided many events for her to attend and enjoy.

Joyce attended and graduated from Success Business College, Winnipeg as a Stenographer and worked at the Boise Pulp & Paper Mill, Kenora, retiring after 25 years.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on June 30, 2011 at First Baptist Church with Rev. Gordon Day-Janz officiating.

Luncheon downstairs immediately after.

Family and friends are also invited to the Lake of the Woods Cemetery interment following the luncheon.

In lieu of flowers, donations to one's charity of choice would be greatly appreciated by the family.
