April 23, 1930 - September 22, 2018
In the early hours of September 22, 2018 Joyce Kirkoski, peacefully in her sleep was called home.
Joyce was predeceased by her husband Bernard Kirkoski in March of 1996. Joyce was predeceased by her dad and mom Gord and Anne Whiteman, her sister Shirley Tivy and brother John (Jack) Whiteman.
Joyce was born in Kenora on April 23, 1930 and grew up in Lakeside along side many relatives and friends. Joyce and Bernard were married in 1951 in the Ignace hospital with her sister and Robert Letain by their sides. The house on Fourth street was built for them and she resided there until her move into Benidickson Court due to health issues.
Joyce taught at Beaver Brae Secondary School for numerous years until she retired to open up Joy’s Boutique, a long-time dream of hers. She operated the store, along with our dad and her sister Shirley, until she felt it was time to close operations.
Mom’s favorite spot in the whole world was her “camp” at Blindfold Lake. It was truly a diamond in the rough but mom saw the potential even though dad seemed a little reluctant at the time. They spent many happy summers at Blindfold. The camp was truly heaven on earth to mom.
Mom will be missed by her four children Terry (Gail) Kirkoski, Randy Kirkoski (Sharon McWilliam), Judy (Peter) Zilinski and Cyndy Daniluck (Robert Cross). Also missing her will be her grandchildren Ryan (Katie) Kirkoski, Jason (Clare) Kirkoski , Michelle Daniluck (Rob), Amy Daniluck (Chris), Christian (Courtney) and Nic (Lauren) Zilinski. She was blessed to have known most of her great grand children, Colin and Kayla Kirkoski, Kaden Daniluck, Blake and Owen Phillips. She also has two great grand-children, Kai and Matilda Kirkoski who reside in Australia.
