August 8th 1959 - April 9th 2020
After a courageous battle with cancer, Judy passed away peacefully at the Lake of the Woods District Hospital with her family by her side.
Judy was a loving daughter, sister, wife, a caring mother, grandmother and a wonderful friend. Judy is predeceased by her father James “Jim” Morgan and step brother Keith Morgan. She is survived by her husband Donald, who was by her side in all capacities until the end. Three sons Jake (Jill), Luke (Rebecca), Zeke (Morgan), and grandchildren Parker, Ella, Korah, Jace, Kade, Leah and Scarlett. She also leaves to mourn her mother Sadie Morgan, brothers Doug (Sherri) Morgan, and Kirk Morgan. Step mother Judy Morgan and step sister Lizanne Morgan, her in laws Percy & Eva Garrow, sister in law Judy Belinke as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts, cousins and friends who will miss her dearly.
Judy was known for her quick wit, her infectious smile, and her compassionate spirit. She always put others before herself and this continued until the very end. Judy was born and spent her entire life living in Kenora. She graduated from Beaver Brae Secondary School and went on to work at the Kenora Public Library. She then decided to become a stay at home mom and raise her three boys, whom she was extremely proud of and who were her pride and joy. Judy devoted her life to her family and could be found at hockey rinks, baseball diamonds, swimming pools, out on Lake of the Woods or doing anything her boys were interested in. After raising her children, Judy went on to work at Lake of the Woods Employment Action Project as a Program Coordinator/Employment advisor, where she made numerous friends that she spoke very highly of. She worked there from 2006 until her illness forced her to retire in early 2020. Over the past 14 years, Judy’s grandchildren took a front row seat and she once again could be found at hockey rinks, baseball diamonds, swimming pools and anywhere she had the chance to spoil her beloved grandchildren. Right up until the very end, Judy’s face would light up whenever she was visited by or received her daily photos of her grandchildren, she loved them with all of her heart. Judy loved to travel and took many trips to Mexico, Cuba, Jamaica and the Dominican Republic.
The family would like to thank the nurses and doctors at the Lake of the Woods District Hospital, Victoria Hospital, Cancer Care Manitoba and Doctor Mike for all of their help and compassionate care.
As per Judy's request there will be no funeral service. A family gathering will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
