Karen Darlene Fisher will be forever remembered for the love, kindness, and compassion she shared with her family, friends, and community.

She leaves behind her beloved parents, Edith Wagamese and Jacob Fisher, and her cherished daughters, Kali Fisher and Jake Fisher, who were the greatest joy of her life, she will also be missed by her brothers, Bruce and John Fisher.

Karen is lovingly remembered by her uncles, Brian Wagamese and Brian McDonald; her aunts, Nona Fisher, Helen Fisher, Terri King, and Ann Garrows; her nieces Shanna Torres (Xavier), Shannon, and Aaliyah Savoyard; and her nephews Christopher Fisher, Rhyix, Maddix Bigblood, Cole and Riley Savoyard (Aaliyah).

She also leaves behind many loving cousins, including MaryJane Scott (Daniel), Barbara Scott, Flora Scott, Bertha Boyd (Joseph), Melanie Scott (Adrian), Deanna Carpenter (Mick), Julia (Kevin), Emily, Shirley Scott, Keith Scott, Michael Scott, Brent Savoyard, Danny Smith, Joelle Muckle, Michelle Muckle, Garry Smith, Melanie Kuz, Michelle Kuz, Madeleine, Jeff Jacobsen (Shauna), Charlotte, Cherilyn Cameron, Fredrick Fisher, Michelle Fisher, Rina Fisher (Marcel), Harvey (Jacqueline), Jamie Walden, Jermaine Fisher, Peter Cameron, Warren Cameron, Craig, Laura Quewezance (Vincent), Cynthia Swain (Curtis), Jonathan, Jordan, Todd Fisher, Chris O’Cheek, Shania, Jonathan, Elora Nelson, Chynica Roulette, Tyra, Alaina Quewezance.

Karen was predeceased by her three angel babies, grandparents Marie, Albert Wagamese, Eliza and John Fisher, uncles Elmer, Leonard Fisher, Steven, Stewart, Ted Wagamese, aunts Nora Fisher, Margaret Cameron, cousins Kristine Savoyard, Sara Jacobsen, Terry McDonald and best friends Alison Land, Sheri Reimer.

Karen was also blessed with many lifelong friendships. She will be lovingly remembered by her best friends Regina Scott, Renita Henry, Amy Reimer, Charlene Penner, Karen Sinclair, Monica Scott, and Christine Daniels whose love and friendship meant so much to her throughout her life.

Karen was passionate about her work as a Jordan’s Principle Navigator, where she served the families of Wabaseemoong Independent Nations with dedication, kindness, and compassion. She worked tirelessly to advocate for children and families, always putting the needs of others before her own.

In her free time, Karen treasured every moment spent with her daughters. She loved watching movies, playing bingo, and creating lasting memories with the people she loved most. Her warm smile, caring heart, and generous spirit touched the lives of many and will never be forgotten.

Karen’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever carried in the hearts of her family, friends, and community.

Wake service will be held at the WCWA Building in Whitedog First Nation on Thursday, July 23, 2026 beginning at 12:00 pm. Funeral Service will be held at the WCWA Building in Whitedog First Nation Saturday, July 25, 2026 at 11:00 am with cremation to follow.
