Karen is a band member of Iskatewezaagegan # 39 FN but lived in Shoal Lake #40 with her mother Lorraine and her 4 children.
Karen passed away suddenly at her dad Marvin place on Monday November 3, 2025 approximately between 10:00 and 10:30 am.
She was predeceased by her grandparents Bobby and Shirley Blackhawk, James and Mae Mandamin, her uncles Ralph, Jimmy and Ronnie Mandamin, Bob Redsky, aunts Gladys and Rose, her cousins Roger, Julian, Adrian Mandamin and Cody Oustan Mandamin.
She is survived by her parents Lorraine (Oswald), Marvin (Evaa) and their baby Davion and her children Kamara, Karson, Kali and Kristian, and her baby daddy Brad Fox, her brothers and sister, James (Melissa), Gabriel (Ashley), Jolene (Curtis), aunts Louise (Roderick), Geraldine, foster aunties Julianna Hunter, Athena Hunter, auntie Viola, auntie Vicky, uncles Tim (Verena), Victor (Irene), cousins Bruce (Miranda), Jeremy (Dale), Luke (Diana), Rochelle (Savannah), Amanda, Katelyn (Brad), Shannon (Trevor), Mabeline (Josh), Corin (Joe), Carolyn, Gage, Chelsea, sister in laws Rebecca, Sam, Patricia and Vanessa Fox, cousins Cathy, Rhea, Jeffery, (Nelda) Jonathon, Bruce, Nadine, (Bernard), Isabel, Debbie, (Jeff) Patricia, Maynard, her nieces and nephews Riel, Howard, Jessie, Brielle, Caroline, Robert, Bryson, Tiana, Karter, and her step nieces and nephews Jessilyn (Andrew), Ryan, Violet, Zachary, Shelleen and cousins Khyrstain, Nathan, Katrina, Mindy, Jathan, Isaiah, Aaron, Chaita, Ariel. As well as her many more nieces and nephews too numerous to mention.
Karen loved commercial fishing and ice fishing with her dad, and on many occasions, Karen had her own commercial license which she went on her own, most times she went out with her dad Marvin and with her kids dad Brad, commercial fishing was her passion.
Karen loved spending time with her children and cherished them through actions, giving them her first priority in everything she had to offer and gave them unconditional love.
She loved spending time with her friends especially with Chaylene Redsky and Brittney Comegan always joked around and had fun with them, she had a fun sense of humour always joking. She loved listening to music and liked to sing but just around people she was close with she had a heart of gold and would help anyone who needed it. Her favourite movies were grumpier old men, Pee wee Herman and Ernest movies and Friends.
Karen was a part in every family occasions that came about Christmas, Thanksgiving, Easter dinners. Her best babysitter was Savannah if she would send a message to her she never hesitated to come by.
Pallbearers will be Luke, Brandon, Jeff and Jon Mandamin, Curtis Greene, Darcey Greene, Josh and Aaron Redsky and Brandon Bird.
Finally, we wish to express our sincere appreciation to the leadership of Iskatewezaagegan #39, Shoal Lake #40, and to all who helped out and to Jeremy Mandamin for taking the time to make the cross for Karen, as well as the grave diggers.
A wake service will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2025 at 11:00 am at the Shoal Lake 40 Band Office Gymnasium. Funeral service will be held on Sunday, November 16, 2025 at 11:00 am officiated by Wilfred Moar with burial to follow.
