Makade Ginew – Black Eagle

December 22, 1960
Kendall resided in his home Community Northwest Angle #33 First Nation and had sadly gone missing in October 2024. His passing brought tremendous sadness to many, the outpouring of prayers, love and support from family, friends, elders, community members, and people far and near reflected the many lives he touched.
He was predeceased by his father John Louis Paul, mother Rose Shebagegit, siblings Donna Paul, Donald Paul and numerous relatives. He was later reunited in spirit with his late grandson Israel Paul.
He is survived by his beloved daughters Sophia Paul and Kendra Sneaky, son Dan Gladu, stepson Nilus Bruce, grandchildren Rosalee, Tonia, Presley, Anthony Jr., Kassandra, siblings Elaine, Ruby, Mark, Teresa and Marshall, numerous cousins, nieces and nephews, mother of Sophia, Verna Paul and dear friend Candace Tucker.
Kendall was a fun-loving man who deeply cherished his family, friends, and community. He was known for his humour, wise words and familiar reassurance “Don’t worry about it”
Kendall especially loved his grandchildren and treasured every moment with them from babysitting and singing together, making memories filled with laughter. He loved to sing and dance, watch sports especially watching hockey with family. He enjoyed spending time with those he loved.
He will be remembered fondly by his many nieces and nephews, whom he enjoyed teaching and spending time with. Whether teaching them how to make Bannock, how to cook fish or sharing lessons from life. Kendall believed in passing knowledge and teachings on to the next generation.
Kendall dedicated many years to serving his community. After graduating high school with honors and demonstrating a natural gift for mathematics, he was encouraged to work with the Band as a Finance Administrator working directly with Indian Affairs. At a young age he continued to contribute to his community. He wore many hats from Chief, Councillor, Band Manager, Housing Project Coordinator, Welfare Administrator and was proudly recognized by being apart of building the first road and some of the first developments in Northwest Angle #33 First Nation along with his cousins Dave Paul and Rosaline Henry.
Beyond his work, Kendall found joy in hockey, baseball, curling, golf, fishing, and the outdoors. Most of all, he valued the people around him and the memories made together.
Kendall will be remembered for his humour, teachings, love of family and the way he brought laughter and reassurance to those around him.
For those who loved him, his words will always remain close:
“Don’t worry about it”
The family would like to thank NWA # 33 First Nation for all of their support.
