Kenneth Elof Lund

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Kenneth "Ken" "Kenny" Elof Lund, age 63, who left us peacefully and surrounded by love on Saturday, October 11, 2025, showing his characteristic strength and good humor to the very end, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born and raised in Kenora, Ontario, Ken spent his life in the region he called home. He was a familiar and welcome face around town, known for his love of conversation and connection with the community. If you saw him, you knew you were in for a good chat. He made time for everyone, whether at the Kenora Curling Club, sharing stories and laughs with friends and fellow curlers, or during a sunny day at Anicinabe Park and Campground, where he enjoyed chatting with campers and visitors from near and far. Ken had an appreciation for the outdoors and spent many happy hours with family and friends fishing and snowmobiling, enjoying bonfires, food, and games. He will be deeply missed for his easygoing demeanor and signature sense of good humor.

Above all, Ken will be remembered for his dedication to his family and friends. He valued his relationships deeply and cherished the time he spent with his loved ones, who will miss his contagious smile, thorough storytelling, and warm presence immensely.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Susan, his respected mother, Winnifred, and his father, Elof, and is no doubt sharing his memories and stories with them now.

Ken is survived by his loving brothers, Doug and Mark, and their families, as well as his cousins. His love now shines down on his granddaughter Emery, as a guardian above with a watchful eye.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Ken to the Kenora Curling Club, Lake of the Woods District Hospital or Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre for their excellent care, or a charity of choice.

Following his wishes, cremation has taken place, and his urn will be placed in a columbarium in Kenora. In keeping with his joyful spirit, a celebration of Ken's life will take place this Spring.
