

Thunder Bird Comes from the south
August 16, 1971 – July 15, 2026
Larry passed away suddenly on July 15, 2026. He was born in Kenora, Ontario on August 16, 1971.
He was predeceased by his mother Sharon Flora Donit, as well as Tommy Pelly, Charlene Petawenagueb, Edie Petewanagueb, Stevon Paypom and Hannah Bird and numerous relatives too many to mention.
He is survived by his siblings Edwin Bird, Roger Bird, Brian Bird (Prairie), Catherine (Nathaniel), Ron Sinclair, Dwayne Sinclair, Luke Bannon, Ernie, Eddie Jr., Marion, Rodney P., his children Sarah (Bear), Carmelie (Barry), Isaiah (Dennis) and Zachary. He will be greatly missed by his grandchildren Isabelle, Casey Rae, Addison, Julia, Lyra, Daniel, Hayez, Hope, Margeret, Esther, Silas, his nieces and nephews Hayden, Harmony, Hailo and many more nieces and nephews too numerous to mention from the Pelly and Bird families.
Larry loved to paint, draw, fish, go for walks, bake, sew ribbon shirts, back in the day he was very good at volleyball, he made regalia, he made pow-wow drums and loved to sing pow-wow songs.
The family would like to thank CNC of Whitefish Bay and the medical unit. We would also like to show big thanks to the Supportive Housing Centre. We greatly appreciate all the workers who worked and supported Larry. We truly know you cared and loved him. We would also like to show appreciation to all of his close friends that spent every single day with him. He really loved you All!
Wake service will be held on Monday, July 27, 2026 beginning at 2:00 pm at the Peshonigeb Cultural Centre in Whitefish Bay. Traditional Funeral Service will be led by Elder Tommy Councillor on Tuesday, July 28, 2026 beginning at 10:00am at the Peshonigeb with burial to follow in Whitefish Bay, Ontario.
