Born June 22, 1977 and passed away October 4, 2025 at the age of 48 at Lake of the Woods District Hospital with his family by his side.
Leon Cobiness leaves to mourn the love of his life Joannie Brittain of 31 years together. His daughter Ariel (Jarod), his two sons Owen and Dylan, his first grandchild Maya “our gbaby”. His father Wayne Cobiness, mother Rena Mackinac, brothers Darryl Mackinac, Malik Cobiness. sisters Rebecca Mackinac, Kaitlyn Cobiness, Elicia Cobiness, his auntie Joanne Cobiness (Chops), mother-in-law Doreen Jamieson, uncle Merv (Tina), nieces and nephews, cousins in law from Calgary, Saskatchewan, Winnipeg, all his friends, co-workers whom all known him and loved him dearly.
Wake service will be held on Wednesday October 8, 2025 at Dalles Niisaachewan Anishinaabe Nation Gymnasium beginning at 2:00pm.
Funeral service will be held on Thursday October 9, 2025 beginning at 10:00am with Elder Gilbert Smith and drums by Brown Eagle, cremation to follow.
Pallbearers will be Jamie Copenace, Preston Copenace, Travis Jack, Willum Copenace, Elijah Jameson, Peter Munroe, David Moostoos and Clinton Jameson.
