She was born on September 18, 1946 in Parry Sound and grew up with her parents John Knox Forbes and Mrytle Mae Forbes (nee MacTavish) in Keewatin.
She is survived by her loving husband of 59 years Douglas, her two daughters Susan (Alex) and Joanne. She also leaves behind grandsons Jaxon (Nina), Kyle and great-granddaughter Wynter, her sister Brenda Carr and many extended family of hers and Doug's including special lifelong friend Valerie Cook.
Linda worked numerous part-time jobs throughout the years and even as an adult returned to school completing both her high school and a college diploma. Her biggest achievement was raising her family. Linda was highly involved in a number of activities in the community. She was very proud of her time as the president of the Ladies Auxillary to the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 13. Political involvement was also a great passion and she was always ready for a spirited debate.
She worked very hard to research all branches of her and Doug's ancestry trees. In addition to these interests, she loved to spend time with family and friends doing many activities such as camping, fishing, card games and travelling.
She was known for her exceptionally giving personality caring deeply for everyone who came through her door. Everyone loved the big hugs she gave.
We would like to thank everyone who cared for her and spent time with all of us. A celebration of life will be held on May 21, 2026. Memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at brownfuneralhomekenora.com and any donations in her memory can be made to the Royal Canadian Legion.
