It is with heavy hearts we say goodbye to our mother, grandmother and GG. Peacefully Lois Ann Lawrence (nee Grant) a resident of Pinecrest Home for the Aged passed away on July 15, 2020.
Born to Lorna and George Grant February 20, 1933, in The Pas, Manitoba. She is predeceased by her husband Hudson Cornel (Stan) Lawrence, her daughter Lee Anne and parents Lorna and George Grant.
Survived by her children Dave (Josanne), Grant (Kathy), Carolyn (Richard) and seven grandchildren Jeff (Deanna), Caitie (Mark), Mitchell, Logan, Travis (Katie), Krista and Michael. Great-grandchildren, Adelyn, Bowden, Rynne and Wyatte.
She graduated from St. Boniface Hospital School of Nursing in Winnipeg, Manitoba. When she moved to Kenora, she worked at the Lake of the Wood District Hospital. Lois finished her career working the evening shifts at the Pinecrest Home for the Aged, where she made many long-lasting friendships. Lois loved going out to the camp at Caribou Lake where she hosted friends and family. Many evenings were spent playing cards or scrabble. She had a strong competitive spirit and would never let you win just because you were younger. She loved her grandchildren and had the opportunity to spend precious time with her great-grandchildren on their weekly visits at Pinecrest.
We wish to thank the staff at Pinecrest Home for the Aged for their thoughtful care and attention to Lois’s needs. At Lois’s request there will be no service but a private Celebration of Life for her family. Please no flowers, if you would like you may make a donation to the Alzheimer Society of Kenora.
