February 3, 1947 – July 4, 2026
With her beloved husband by her side, Mary Anne Wlodarek passed away peacefully on July 4, 2026, at the age of 79.
Mary will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her devoted husband, Henry, with whom she shared nearly five decades of marriage; sons Mark (Michelle) Gaudet and Troy (Shae Tighe) Wlodarek; and her cherished grandchildren, Alexa Gaudet, Jordan Gaudet, Oliver Wlodarek, Amelia Wlodarek, and Brantley Tighe. She is also lovingly remembered by lifelong friend and first husband, Armand Gaudet, brother John Tobin, sister Kay Tobin, sister Theresa Tobin and many nieces and nephews, extended family members, and friends whose lives she touched over the years.
Born in Conception Bay, Newfoundland on February 3, 1947, Mary was the 9th child of 12 and the first girl in the family. Growing up in Newfoundland instilled in her a deep sense of family, resilience, and determination that would remain with her throughout her life.
As a young woman, Mary moved to Toronto, where she built a successful career and raised her family. Entrepreneurial and hardworking, she owned and operated her own hair salon and later worked as a manager with Kinney Shoes. In 1988, the family relocated to Kenora, where Mary continued her career at Pinecrest Home for the Aged, dedicating 16 years of service to caring for others before her retirement.
While Mary held many roles throughout her life, none brought her more joy than being a wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Mary’s greatest love was her family, and in particular her grandchildren. Whether sharing stories, celebrating milestones, or simply spending time together, Mary treasured every moment with those she loved.
Mary will be remembered for her generosity, sense of humour and unwavering devotion to her family, as well as her love of the casino and knack for coming home a winner more often than not.
The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to Kandida Morrison, Social Worker, and Mike Limerick, Palliative Care Nurse Practitioner, for their kindness, compassion, and unwavering support throughout Mary’s illness and final days.
