“Mai’ingan-Giwiiwizens”
Migizi Dootem
August 8, 2004 – October 13, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we share the obituary of our beloved Mekhi Waters Pelly, whose sudden passing on October 13, 2025, left an immeasurable void in the hearts of his family, friends, and everyone who loved and cared for him.
Mekhi has been welcomed into the Spirit World by his grandparents, Ernest Joseph and Christine Pelly, as well as his dear friends, Divena Katcheconias and Jefferson Assin-Shingebis. May they welcome him with open arms as he joins those who went before him.
Mekhi leaves behind his loving Father Brian Pelly; His Mother, Samantha Scott; Brother, Dakota Scott; and his Sisters, Niiban Scott and Ashanti Pelly-Scott. He will also be deeply missed by his grandmothers, Mary Pelly (Stanley), Mary-Jane Scott (Daniel), Flora Scott; his grandfather Stanley Skead; and His Great Grandfather Arnold Pelly Sr along with numerous Brothers, Sisters, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, friends, and extended family members whose lives he touched in countless ways.
Mekhi had a love for music, enjoyed rapping for fun, playing video games, reading manga, and spending time with his friends and siblings. He was protective of the people he loved and cared about, and those who knew him will forever carry memories of his presence, his personality, and the moments they shared with him.
Though his time here on Earth was far too short, the love we hold for Mekhi will never fade. We will speak your name, share our memories, and smile when we remember the good times we had together. He will remain in our hearts until the day we are reunited with him in the happy hunting grounds in the Spirit World.
