It is with great sadness, we announce the passing of our beloved Nowandigo Fobister at the age of 20, a resident of Grassy Narrows First Nation.

She was predeceased by her older sister Jordaine Fobister, uncle Kenneth Scott, cousin Nora Sneaky great grandparents, Paul and Clara Fobister, Robert Keesick, Bertha Kejick, grandparents Russell Bighetty, Kathy Keesick and her bestest friend Chris Cochrane.

Nowandigo leaves to mourn her one & only baby girl Nikki O'Cyrus Fobister, brother Damian Fobister, parents Cheryl Fobister, Whabino Languedoc, dearest uncle Kane Languedoc, grandparents Gloria Fobister (Gary Cochrane), Roberta Keesick, Geraldine Fobister (Kenneth Owen Scott), Roger Fobister Sr (Cathy), Judy DaSilva (Bepgogoti), Robert Williamson Sr. (Annette), Jason Kejick Sr. (Anita), Barbara Fobister (Raphael). As well as her aunties & uncles Natalie, Veronica, Brandon, Waawaate, Roger Jr, Dylan, Sheeba, Virgie, Ronald Sr, Derek, Claudia, Janet, Brian, Darryl, Selena, Jocelyn, Carole, Brett, Bertrand, Yolanda (Gerry),Melissa (Terry) Amanda (late Sterling), Michael (Fawn), Israel (Tashena) as well as many others too numerous to mention.

She will also be greatly missed by nieces & nephews, Malola, Seth, Damon, Ahzhenokwa, Raelynn, Harlow, Wiisaande, cousins Cedric, Naya, Kyra, Zephyr, Niiban, Ashanti, Mekhi, Dakota, Paris, Emma, Angel, Harland, Adam, Ronald Jr, Maka, Ashley, Kienan, Taina Dasilva, Iruwa, Karupi, Mekronati, Tedje, Hazel, Annie, Daisy, her childhood best friends Tianna, Josey, Emree, Jayde, Ainsley, Shakira and Alyssa. Thank you girls for everything -- Himiko as well as many others too numerous to mention.

Our beautiful Anishinaabekwezens touched the hearts of everyone who knew her. She was a kind, loving, funny person with a bright sense of humour, and she cared deeply about her family and friends.

A wake service will be held at the Trappers Building in Grassy Narrows, Ontario, on November 18, 2025, starting at 2:00 pm. The funeral service will take place at the Trappers Building on November 20, 2025, at 11:00 am with burial to follow.
