Paul "Pooch" Gerald Rosdobutko

Age 70, passed away after a short but courageous battle with cancer. He passed away at Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre on August 4, 2026.

Born on August 1, 1956 in Kenora, Ontario, Paul lived a life filled with adventure in his younger years, with compassion and a love for the world around him.

Paul graduated from George Brown College with a diploma in Marketing in 1980. Amongst his highlights in school was a class trip to Chicago, and the Playboy Mansion located there.

After a short stint at the former Kenora Boise Cascade Sawmill, he set off for a solo trip across most of Europe. Upon returning to work, he worked again for a short time before taking a shorter trip once again to Europe.

After that, he worked briefly for the MNR in park maintenance and was called upon to join emergency firefighting crews on occasion, and he performed admirably fighting forest fires.

Due to various health issues and circumstances, Paul stayed at home with his parents and cared for them until their passing. Especially for his father Lawrence, who passed in January 2025.

Paul is survived by his brothers, Bradley, Jamey (Kathy), and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Paul was predeceased by his mother, Pauline in 2011; brother, Wayne in 2018; and father, Lawrence, as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins.

A special thanks to his cousin, Kevin Cathcart, and neighbour, Tracey Markham, who helped Paul in so many ways over the years, and especially when cancer struck him. Your kindness, compassion and especially your friendship shall never be forgotten.

A huge thank you as well to all the Doctors and Nursing Staff at Lake of The Woods District Hospital, as well as the Oncology staff and nurses at Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre.

As per Paul's wishes, he is to be cremated and interred with his parents, Lawrence "Dusty" and Pauline, at The Lake of The Woods Cemetery at a later date. Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, September 11, 2026 at 1:00pm at the First Baptist Church, Kenora, Ontario

Paul, you fulfilled your purpose in this life, and may you quickly and safely travel to the other side.
