Raymond Ross

October 22, 1963 - March 15, 2021

Raymond Ross was a devoted husband to Margaret (nee Land) and a caring father to Elijah as well as stepfather to Jennifer (Kevin) and Roy (Charlene). He was grandfather to Nathan (Carla), Justin, Brandon, and Shaylynn (Colton) and great grandfather to Peyton and Johanna; Nahani, Kryrin, and Aonna; Hyland; Kashie, Kamron, Kaloni, Ben, and Grace. Raymond will be sorrily missed by his two amazing aunties Cecile Boryskiewich of Russell, Manitoba and Diane Ross of Thunder Bay, Ontario; his sister (Roxanne) and brothers (Randy, Curtis, and Donald) as well as several nephews and nieces including Bret and Tyler; Michael; Jocelyne, Brianne, and Tiara; Jaimee; Mallory and Dorne; and Alex. Ray was predeceased by his father (William) and his mother (Hilda); as well as his sister (Dorie); and brothers (Billy, Floyd, and Douglas); one nephew (Brandon); and his uncle (Tom Ross).

Raymond was a descendant of Chief Peguis on his grandmother, Mary Ann (Hubert) Hamilton nee Prince's line; and the grandson of William Ross and Bella Redsky. Raymond was the great grandson was William Ross (a settler of Lake of Woods). Ray had many relations across Canada including Anderson, Barnard, Belak, Falconer, Green, Redsky, Williamson, as well as Boryskiewich, Hamilton, Irvine, Prince, Roseborough, and Willis, to name a few. He proudly graduated from Crescent Heights High School in Calgary and had many witty and obscure interests such as his study of both the Qur'an and the Written Torah. His loved of music included Rolling Stones, Black Flag and the spoken word art of Henry Rollins. He was the only one who thought 'Painted Black' was a dance song! We will always love and miss you.

A public viewing will take place at Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Centre on Saturday, March 20, 2021 at 10 a.m. A Service will take place Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Centre on Saturday, March 20, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. Officiated by Frank Kowal. Cremation to take place following service.
