Rhonda Tacknyk

February 7, 1974 - July 31, 2026

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Rhonda Jean Tacknyk, whose love for her family, friends, and life's simple joys will be remembered by all who knew her.

Rhonda is survived by her life partner, Matt; their three children; Erika and her sons Jason and Lorin. Tim and partner Trinity and their son Ryatt. Her son Jackson. Mother: Carol Tacknyk; her brothers, Tim Tacknyk and Bill Tacknyk; her sisters, Candis Peacock (Steve) and Samantha Atchison (DJ; In-Laws Cathy and Hank Giroux, Sister In law Jill Maki, Brother in law John Giroux (Melody) and numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. She will also be missed by her many Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.

Rhonda spent her youth on the ringette rink, where she developed a love of sports, friendship, and community. At the age of 16, she met the love of her life, Matt, and together they built a life centered on family. Raising their three children was her greatest accomplishment and the role she cherished most.

Some of Rhonda's happiest days were spent at Honeymoon Island, where summers were filled with horseshoe tournaments, good music, cold drinks, campfires, and laughter shared with family and friends. She loved karaoke and never passed up the chance to sing, laugh, and enjoy the company of the people she loved. Her fun-loving spirit and ability to bring people together will be fondly remembered. In later years she enjoyed the comfort of her home gardening, raising chickens, and will be missed by her fur babies Rufus and Sam.

Over the past 12 years, Rhonda faced many health challenges with strength and determination. Although her health gradually declined, her love for her family never wavered. Her passing comes far too soon, leaving an immeasurable void in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

She was predeceased by those who have now welcomed her home.

Rhonda will be remembered for her love of family, her laughter, her resilience, and the countless memories she created with those fortunate enough to share in her life. Though she is gone too soon, her memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved her.

At her request there will be no service and there will be a celebration of life at a later date.
