

He was predeceased by his mother and father Bertha and John Lavergne, his brothers Rolland, Gary and Wayne, and sister Marg.
He leaves to mourn his daughter Richelle of Edmonton, sisters Shirley Chandonet of Quebec, Susie Ruby of Alberta, brother Lloyd (Lisa) of B.C., and sister-in-law Claire (Gary) Lavergne of Edmonton. In Kenora he leaves his brothers Larry and Harold, his sisters Antionette Stefanik, Joanne Loessin and Irene Panisiak. He is also survived by companion Gloria Holmstrom , stepdaughter Candy Holmstrom (Shawn), and foster son Gordon Kickense, as well as grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Born and raised in Kenora, Richard started working in the bush at a very early age. He then spent over 25 years working on the pipeline for several companies - Bannister, Magestic, Spie and O.J. Richard was a simple, honest man who took pride in his work and received great satisfaction from a job well done. At 55, Richard was able to retire and spent his time cutting wood and enjoying each day, living peacefully in his country home.
Funeral Services will be held at St. Louis Roman Catholic Church on Thursday, April 1, 2010 at 10:30 am, 912 Superior Street, Box 843, Keewatin, ON with Father Thomas Mullamangalam officiating. Luncheon to follow at the church.
