It is with great sadness to announce the sudden but peaceful passing of Bobby White, aka, Dr. Bob at the Health Sciences Centre, Winnipeg, MB on March 2, 2019.

Bobby was born August 20, 1949, born and raised in Naotkamegwanning First Nation. He is survived by his sons, Bingo (Stacey), Clarke (Kathleen) and Braden, Craig (Rayanne), Chris (Andrea), Robert, Tyrone and Zach. His brothers, Allan (Karen), Ronnie, Noel (Jackie), Carl (Annie), Maynard (Charlotte), Glen and sisters Catherine and Joyce, he will be sadly missed by his ex-wives Darlene Jack and Arlene Yellowhead, many Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren and nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Bobby is predeceased by daughter Kyla, his dad Frank and mom Rosie (nee Paul), brother Dennis and sisters Alice and Anna, nephews Allan Bradley (Tums) and Vinny and nieces Zhannel and Crystal.

Bobby’s greatest past time activity was fishing, especially our annual fishing expedition. He would have everything ready, boat, gas, food, fishing rods, baits and enough food for a shore lunch.

His utmost passion & volunteered tirelessly was the Emergency service field. In the early 80’s, Dr. Bob and others with the help of Sioux Narrows Paramedics, developed and serviced the community`s very first “First Response Team” which was a voluntary service. This is how he became to be known as Dr. Bob, with dedication, commitment and pride, Dr. Bob worked with community leaders to have our very own land based Emergency Medical Services, this was his greatest accomplishment and vision in Dr. Bob, having our own Paramedics for Naotkamegwanning First Nation and surrounding communities. He worked diligently with the community, while working 2 other jobs as a guide for Red Indian and Day Care custodian and later Night Security for Education until his retirement. As Dr. Bob retired, he currently was serving as a committee member for the Saa Sii Tonititwin Justice Program.

Wake Services will begin on Wednesday, March 6, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at the Health Services Healing Room. Funeral Services will be held on March 7, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. with interment to follow Naotkamegwanning First Nation Cemetery.

I am saddened to learn of Bobby's passing. I worked for ambulance dispatch for many years, and Bobby was always so very helpful when there was any type of emergency. He was caring, dedicated, and a very good first responder. I know he will be missed by his community and all who knew him.
