It was a shock to learn of Rob’s passing. I too went to high school with Robbie and had the pleasure of working with a little while ago as well.

I have a picture of Rob somewhere from high school and I’ll search for it when I am back in town.

I was in Recruit Class #111 with Bob. I heard about his passing with dis-belief. Bob became a police officer with a previous career in physio-therapy. He was always in good shape and was good company.  As this job makes it easy to lose track of the people you started with I felt bad that we lost connection. A few years back I bumped into him at the Safeway in Kenora. He looked like he lived at the lake. The photo included in this obituary is exactly how I remember him; big smile, healthy teeth, hair that looked too good to be real, and a boat. I hope his family knows that although many years have passed, he left an impact with those of us he worked with.

So very sorry that Robbie has passed.
His Keg family from the good old days will cherish memories of fun times and a few misadventures! We spent a fair bit of time together as a bonded group through our days as colleagues at the restaurant.

Growing up in Lakeside, I remember the Young family and Rob who grew up down "the crooked lane" as we all called it.  I recently saw him sitting in the emergency department at Lake of the Woods District Hospital and spoke to him briefly.  I was very shocked to read shortly thereafter that he had passed away. Sorry to hear about Rob’s passing, we went to high school together and shared the same birthday, he also painted one of my favourite ski-doo helmets for me, really nice guy and friend.

Rob was my SRO while I worked in Inner city Winnipeg. He was always so very kind and professional. He showed great compassion for everyone. My heartfelt sympathy to his family and friends, especially his beloved son. I never met his son but he absolutely adored him and spoke of him often.

Rob was my partner for a couple of years back in the early 80’s as a member of the Winnipeg Police Service.  We became good friends and he could always be relied upon to have your back.  He was a credit to the Service and has left this world far too soon.  Goodbye my Friend and RIP BROTHER.

Saddened to hear of Robert's passing!  Robert worked with my wife, back in the Loblaws days and was a good friend of both of ours.  
I always enjoyed our conversations when we would get together!
