It is with heavy, heavy hearts we announce the passing of Rose Anne Setterland (nee Sas). Born January 7th, 1938.
Beloved mother, caring grandmother, devoted great-grandmother (GG) and great friend. Who passed away Saturday, June 16th, 2018 in her home (Pinecrest Home for the Aged) surrounded by her family.
Rose was born and raised in Kenora along with her brother Jerry and late sister Pearl. She met her loving husband David Setterland and they began their lives together building a home for themselves and their three wonderful daughters on the Airport Road in Kenora. As a young women Rose worked at the Johnsons pharmacy lunch counter while raising her family.
Rose was a young soul and will be fondly remembered by all she greeted with a "Hello Dear" or left with "Love ya Darlin". She was always busy doing one thing or another, with many projects at her home which she took great pride in. In addition to home improvements her great passions included the Olympic Games. All who knew Rose, knew that this passion for the Olympics and collection of memorabilia was something she carried out all through her adult life. Rose loved to watch sports and would often remind her family of stats and scores. She loved music Elvis being a definite favorite of hers and something she shared with her family. Rose loved animals and had several pets throughout her life.
She was predeceased by her loving husband Dave Setterland, her sister Pearl and son-in-law Marcel Langhan.
She leaves behind her brother Jerry (Alma); brother-in-law Roy Perrault (her best friend); her three daughters: Debbie, Wendy (Copper), Cindy (Scott); her 6 grandchildren: Jasmine, Quinn, Elijah (Aleigha), Jamie (Myles), Justin and David; as well as her great-grandchild Ethan.
Rose, Mom, Sister, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, or Friend whatever she was to you, we know it was special, and to her you all were loved.
She will be sorely missed as she was treasured by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. She was a great woman who had the strongest heart and a zest for life which was unmatched.
We will continue to keep her alive with fond memories and always try to make the gravy as good as hers.
We would like to say a special thank you to Tracey and all the Nurses and Staff at Pinecrest Home for the Aged, so many of you made a special place in her heart and we are eternally grateful for your care and love that you showed her.
