It is with complete sadness we must announce the sudden passing of Russell Lee Hunter. Better known as Rusty. Rusty was born September 17, 1967 in Kenora, Ontario. Rusty passed away on January 23, 2019 at his residence in Whitedog at the age of 51 years.
He graduated high school in June 1986 and he continued to live a quiet life in Whitedog. He loved playing on his guitar, listening to his favorite songs, fishing with his brother, Barney, visiting his friends and family.
Rusty leaves to mourn his parents, John Hunter. Doris Hunter and George Boyd.
His siblings, Barney, & Anne McDonald, Harvey & Linda Hunter, Wendy & John Paul Jamieson, Gretchen & Rocky Bunting, Michael & Jennifer Hunter, Priscilla Bear, Charlene Bear, Reuben Bear. Step-siblings, Harriet, George, Matthew, Myra, Isaac Muckle.
Rusty didn't have children but he loved his nieces and nephews dearly as well as his grand nieces and nephews.
His aunts and uncles, Nancy McDonald, Rose McDonald, Dan McDonald, James McDonald, Ron P. McDonald, Charles McDonald, Gail McDonald, Joe Hunter, Louise Hunter.
Rusty was predeceased by his sister, Sharon Lucy McDonald, his grandparents, George & Lucy Hunter, Robert McDonald, Harriet McDonald. His aunts and uncles, Josephine Mandamin, Victoria McDonald, Guy Hunter, Norman Hunter. His great nephews and nieces, Felicia Hunter, Sarah Bunting, Landon Bunting, Baby Bunting.
Rusty has made lasting friends over the years, Gary & Darlene Fish, Roy Pahpasay, and others too numerous to mention.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 30, 2019 from 1:00pm – 3:00pm at Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Centre. Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at 3:00 pm with Pastor Frank Kowal officiating. Cremation will follow.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Travelodge, lower level. Please join us for a dinner to share our best memories and moments together.
The Hunter brothers gratefully acknowledges and appreciate the support shown by our cousins, Derrick Hunter and Jonathan Hunter during our time of loss.
Instead of flowers, we ask if you wish to make donation in memory of Rusty to the Wabaseemoong Resource Center. Rusty loved helping out people and often gave his food away to less fortunate.
