January 25, 1978 – March 29, 2026

With heavy hearts, we announce that Russell Scott, a son, father, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend, was called home to be with the Creator on March 29, 2026, at his home in Wabaseemoong. We take comfort in knowing he has begun his journey into the spirit world, where he is at peace and reunited with those who went before him.

Russell leaves behind his mother, Celene, and his father, Steven (Leah); his sister Virginia (Dave); and his children, Drake, Reshay, and Demarius. He also leaves behind many loving relatives, including his uncles, aunties, nieces, and nephews, as well as a large extended family and many friends who will miss him dearly.

Russell was predeceased by many loved ones, including his brother Jason; his nephews Rueben and Skye; his grandparents Alice, John, Annie, and Robert; along with several uncles and aunties. We take comfort in knowing he is reunited with them once again.

Russell will be remembered for the time he shared with others and the simple things he enjoyed in life. He liked socializing and playing cards, going for rides, picking blueberries with his family, going to the casino with his dad, watching movies, and spending time visiting with family and friends. He had a strong love for food and always enjoyed a good meal. In his younger years, he especially enjoyed outings with his parents, including canoeing, fishing, and hunting.

Wake services will begin on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., with officiating by Pastor Nathan Chae. Burial will follow.
