Shirley Lajeunesse

Shirley was born on August 25, 1938 in Winnipeg Manitoba. She was the youngest of 7 siblings. The family moved to Keewatin in 1947. Mom met dad in 1953 when he made a delivery to her school. They never looked back and married in February 1954 to begin their life together. They had celebrated 72 years of marriage this year.

Shirley is survived by husband Gerald, their children and families, daughter Val (Terry) Grafham, grandchildren Treena Bingham, Sheri Grafham (Dan Caron), great grandchildren Averie Grafham, Tallen and Blayklee Caron. Lana (Dave) Hales, great granddaughter Avery Hales, son David (Donna) Lajeunesse, grandchildren Danielle Lajeunesse, Denton Lajeunesse (Kayla Groves), great grandchildren Dezen, Kohen, and Livia Lajeunesse, son Kerry Lajeunesse (Dianne Konoski-Whyte), son Keven Lajeunesse (Doug Kurtz), son Chris Lajeunesse, grandchildren Jordan and Jamie Lajeunesse, daughter Tracy Lajeunesse (Ernie Smith), grandchildren Hailey, Matt, and Ally Krolyk (Austin Brown) and Emily Smith.

Mom was a beautiful, kind and loving person to everyone. Her biggest joy was her grandchildren and the special bond she had with each one of them.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the LWDH Foundation would be appreciated or to a charity of one’s choice.

A private Family Service will be held on September 26, 2026 at 2:00pm in the First Baptist Church, 510 2nd St. South, Kenora.
