Shirley Mary Webb

Shirley Mary Webb November 8, 1931 - April 5, 2021
Shirley left us on April 5th, 2021 surrounded by her loving family at the age of 89.
She will be lovingly missed and remembered by her daughter and son-in-law Sheila and D'Arcy Delaney. Also left to cherish her memory are her grandchildren Jesse Webb (Victoria, Jonah and Jameson), Joshua (Kara) Webb, Tristin (Jon and Adelaye) King, Ashton Delaney (Chase and Sydney) and Jenna (Miguel and Mariah) Dufresne. She will also continue to hold a special place in the heart of her cherished niece Bev (Bill) Richards.
She was pre-deceased by her parents Marcus and Nellie Blight, her siblings, daughters-in-law Sheryl and Shannon, and waiting for her with open arms her sons Alan (Joe) Webb and Timothy Webb.
Shirley was born and raised in Kenora and worked as a correctional officer at the Kenora District Jail until her retirement in 1991. During her career she made many friends and gathered many stories, which she loved to share.
Following her retirement she enjoyed puttering in her garden and doting on her beloved grandchildren, teaching them to sew, knit and draw. Her family treasured her immense patience and kind heart. Often joking that she did everything slowly, while knowing she just enjoyed life at her own pace.
The family will be holding a private memorial. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Kenora Cat Shelter as Shirley was a tremendous cat lover.
When tomorrow starts without me And I am not here to see... If the sun should rise and find your eyes filled with tears for me.
I wish so much you wouldn't cry The way you did today... While thinking many things We didn't get to say.
I know how much you loved me, As much as I love you... And each time you think of me, I know you'll miss me too
So when tomorrow starts without me, Don't think we're far apart... For every time you think of me, I'm right here in your heart.

The last time I visited with grandma we had a great chat about everything. She was reassuring and strong. She was a very strong woman who set an amazing example for myself, my brother and my cousins.
You will be missed, gram. We love you.
Jesse, Jonah and Jamie.

I couldn’t have asked for a better grandmother. She was funny, sassy, intelligent and always straight to the point. Growing up, grandma always made it seem like it was the 1950s and as I got older she helped me connect the dots of our family history. She will be missed but we should all be thankful we had her here to begin with. Love you grandma.

My sincere hopes that Grandma Webb rests in peace and is now having a joyful reunion with those who are waiting for her. It has been such a blessing to have Joshua in our lives and I also enjoy his twin brother Jesse. I feel I got two blessings for the price of one. May all of you be comforted in this time of loss.
With love, Melanie and Jeff Judd (Joshua‘s in-laws)

Oh my gosh, I was driving to Canadian Tire this morning and thought of Mrs. Webb when we drove along 5th St. S. in Lakeside as I came to the stop sign. I was Marjorie Drew from 611-6th Ave. S. in Lakeside. I am so very sorry to hear of the loss of your beloved mom. Your family has suffered a lot of heartache losing so many family members over the years. Paul and I are sending our heartfelt condolences to everyone. Marjorie Zimmer & Paul Jackson
