February 15, 1962 – February 23, 2021
Peacefully on February 23, 2021, William ‘Billy’ James Linnitt, with family by his side, passed away at the age of 59. Billy is survived by his brother, sisters and many relatives and friends, both near and far.
Life for Billy started in Toronto on February 15, 1962 where he spent most of his life. Through the years growing up, Billy had many passions like photography, camping, trucking, cooking, and of course his pets, but his biggest passion was building trikes and riding. One of his proudest accomplishments was joining BTW and the Ontario chapter in 1994. He became the communications officer shortly after that and produced the Chapter news that later became a magazine. He printed and produced the magazine at his house in Keswick, Ontario. Billy also held various other roles within the club and was a valuable part of the chapter. Along with that, Billy got to build his trike, ride at rallies and form solid friendships and extend his family. Billy was well known for always bringing his robust, over the top, exuberant, charismatic, and in a way cocky, but loving attitude with a smile that everyone expected. Billy lived life on his own terms, he made his own rules, fought authority, played hard and paved his own road. He loved making people laugh, even if he was sad. He will be sorely missed.
For Billy, riding wasn’t just a hobby. It was his community and his way of life. The road was a place for him to meet friends, take many photos, capturing many years of memories from all over Canada and the U.S. to share with his beloved ones.
In lieu of flowers, we have set up a goFundme page for Billy to help give him a final send off as well as to have a celebration of his life later in the summer as COVID restrictions ease, where family and friends can attend and enjoy his company, share stories, memories, and say our final goodbyes.
