It is with heavy hearts and cherished memories that we announce the passing of William Tomashowski, a beloved brother, uncle, and friend who truly lived and loved life to the fullest.
William was a man with a big heart, a generous spirit, and a deep love for his family. He enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, especially spending time at his family camps at Storm Bay and Crow Rock. Fishing with family and friends, and enjoying the lake for many years, were some of his greatest joys. He loved being on the water, rocking on the barge, and creating countless memories with the people he cared about most.
William also had a passion for riding and travelling on his Harley-Davidson. He loved the open road, new places, and the friendships that came with every ride. Whether it was a day trip or a longer adventure, he enjoyed the freedom and camaraderie that motorcycle life brought him.
He had a special love for his German Shepherds, Zeus, Chevas, and Nikki who brought him great companionship and joy.
William began his career with CP Rail at the age of 18 and dedicated 37 years of service, retiring at 55. He was proud of his career and the many friendships he made along the way.
William will be lovingly remembered by his brother Michael (Rossana), sister Susan, nephew Tyler (Madelynn), as well as his nieces and nephews, cousins, extended families, and many friends whose lives he touched.
He was predeceased by his mother, Lily Bergman, and father, Bill Tomashowski; his grandparents, Violet Cederwall and Rickard Bergman; and Nick and Mary Tomashowski.
William lived life his way, loved with a big heart, and leaves behind memories that will be treasured forever.
Rest easy, William. May the lakes always be calm, the sun always shine, and your spirit forever be free.
A Celebration of Life will be held in 2027.
Details will be shared at a later date.
