He was preceded in death by his father on June 1, 1989 and his mother on July 1, 2002. He is survived by his wife Lottie, sister Cheryl Booth, and brother Rick White and wife Sylvia, and many nieces and nephews.
Soon after Olen graduated from Kerman High School, he married Lottie Mercer. They moved to Southern California where he worked in a hospital and at Disneyland for a few years. When they moved back to Kerman, he began his career of 31 years with the Post Office.
Olen was a friendly guy who never knew a stranger. He was always involved in civic activities such as the parade chairman for the Harvest Festival. One year he was selected to be the Grand Marshall. For many years he collected memorabilia for the Historical Society in Kerman. He enjoyed restoring old photos to add to the collection. He also served as a part-time minister for the church of Christ, in Kerman, for many years.
He was definitely a man of many interests and talents. Many people may remember his authentic haunted house with all the scary characters that resided inside and scared all who entered. He also loved magic and practiced it at kids' birthday parties and other events.
Another hobby he enjoyed was woodworking. He made several impressive pieces of furniture; a cedar closet, china cabinet, and many smaller items. He was a perfectionist in all he did. He will be missed.
Visitation will be held at Palm Memorial Kerman Chapel on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 from 4:00 pm to 7 pm. Graveside Services will be on Thursday, January 17, 2019 at 11:00 am at Fresno Memorial Gardens.
