Beulah was strong in faith and rich in love. She was born on a farm south of Raymer, CO. on January 6, 1933, to Clarence and Tracy (Critel) Johnson. Beulah had two sisters and two brothers. She graduated from Raymer in 1951. She married Stanley Jay Klinginsmith on June 6, 1951.
As a young girl Beulah loved riding her horse down to the creek to go fishing. She was a wonderful gardener. She would raise a huge garden to provide for her family summer and winter. Beulah’s table was nothing special, but at her table everyone belonged and was loved. There was always a seat for everyone. When people stopped by to visit, mom would ask them to stay for dinner. With hardly any notice, she could serve a fabulous meal. There was no shortage of laughter at Beulah’s table, but if the markets or wheat price was on the radio, you had to be quiet for Stanley.
Hauling wheat to the elevator was a favorite thing of Beulah’s. She was able to run almost any piece of equipment on the farm. She took responsibility for the night calving unless she needed help. To keep herself awake, she would embroider quilt blocks and then made many quilts for her family and friends. Beulah wanted people to be able to be warm. She made and donated many jean quilts. Beulah spent time cutting jokes and putting them in a book for the veteran’s home.
Cooking was a specialty of Beulah’s. When her children got off the school bus, she would have fresh bread or cookies coming out of the oven. Her pies and bread were favorites of all who ate them. All her sons and sons-in-laws loved that she favored them by cooking their favorite things, whether it was pull-apart rolls, loaves of bread or sour cream raisin pie she loved to cook for them.
Beulah loved her flowers and garage sales. She had such a green thumb that an avocado seed would grow in her yard just by throwing it outside. She never saw a garage sale that didn’t interest her.
Beulah is survived by Linda (Glen) Erickson, Janyce Harms, David (Beth) Klinginsmith, Sandra (Dwane) Timm, Doris Curyea, Pattie Klinginsmith, Donna (Kelly) Thompson, Karla (Dallas) Warren, a sister Stella Johnson and daughter in law Sherrie Klinginsmith. She left quite a legacy with 9 children, 30 grandchildren, 66 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
Beulah was preceded in death by her husband Stanley, her parents, sister Hazel, and brothers Clarence, Elmer, in-laws Belle & Percy Klinginsmith, a son Larry Klinginsmith, sons-in-law Leonard Harms, Brent Curyea, grandchildren Jamie Timm Lohmeyer, Missy Thompson, and Bentley Graves.
Until we meet again in heaven, we are going to miss you Mom and have wonderful memories because of you!
