Daniel E. Doherty

Danny was born on February 8, 1992 in Munising, the son of David Doherty and Penny (Parkkila) Hultman. He graduated from West Senior High in June 2011, attending the Public Safety courses at TBA. Danny was planning on becoming a police officer after being discharged from the United States Marine Corps. Danny was employed by Circle G Construction and enjoyed fishing, swimming, hiking, playing video games, and most of all, spending time with his fiancé, SanTanna Gomez.

Danny was full of life. He had a spark for life that everyone loved about him. He always had a way to make you smile, laugh and he had a love that can never be replaced. Danny always put others first and loved everyone so much. Even though he didn’t say it often, he always found ways to express his love for others.

Danny will be missed by all of those who survive him; his fiancé, SanTanna Gomez and her family, her parents Andrea and Phil Gomez; parents, Penny Hultman and Paul Hultman; brothers, David Doherty and Johnathan Hultman; grandparents, Sharon Parkkila, Art and Nina Parkkila, and Dave and Linda Hultman; nieces, Sophia Doherty and Ava Gomez; aunts and uncles, Phillip and Kathy Parkkila, Pam Parkkila, and Janice and Scott Sheldon.

Preceding Danny in death are his father, David Doherty; grandmother, Fran Coach; brother, Ryan Doherty; and uncle, Matthew Hultman.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Sunday, July 24, 2011 at 3 pm at Covell Funeral Home; 232 E. State Street, Traverse City, with visitation starting at 2 pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family.
