He was born June 28, 1976 in Portland, Oregon to Frankie and Deborah Smith.
Danny resided in Kingsley, the home town he grew up in and a graduated from in 1995.
On Feb. 15, 2010 he married his soul mate and best friend Jodi Smith in Kingsley MI.
Danny was liked by so many with his witty sense of humor and HUGE heart! He loved to boat, hunt, fish, camp, passionately talk politics, watch documentaries, listen to news radio and tell stories to no end! He loved to listen to Paul Harvey and spew out random facts. Everyone is going to miss his intentionally silly grammar such as “gooder,” “warsher machine,” and ridiculous sayings about frogs or checkbooks. He playfully picked on people around him and gave them loving names.
He felt privileged to teach the kids how to shoot their first gun, drive a car, play in the mud, and love football. He couldn’t stress the Smith Family philosophy to the kids enough, “don’t lie, don’t cheat, don’t steal, work hard for yourself and harder for your family!” He built his company, Total Automotive Solutions, on this philosophy of honesty, respect and integrity.
He was proceeded in death by his father Frankie Ray Smith, maternal grandparents and paternal grandmother.
He is survived by his wife Jodi, his adored children James 13, Jesse 10, and loving stepchildren Ashlee 17, Alex 21, and Andrew 23. His doting & devoted mother Debbie, friend and “seester” Christina, husband Louis, nieces/nephews Lucy, Lilly, Ally, and Parker, paternal uncles/aunts Ben, Bill, Diane, and Glenda. He was the life of the party and the heart of the family, his smile, laugh, honesty, and smart-ass comments will be missed beyond words.
In accordance to Danny’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Celebration of life will take place Saturday September 23, 2017 at Kingsley High School at 11AM with a small luncheon to follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to be made to the family.
