Esther Marie Wheeler, age 102 of Kingsley, passed away peacefully with her daughter by her side on Thursday, March 28, 2019 at Munson Hospice House. Esther was born February 24, 1917 in Kingsley, MI to M.D. and Wilhemina (Eckstein) Baldwin, and was a resident of Kingsley. In 1938, she married Elmer E. Wheeler who preceded her in death in 1985. Esther was a lifelong member of the Kingsley Baptist
Church, and enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and also tatting. She is survived by her daughters; Elamae Wheeler and Evelyn (Ronald) Knickerbocker, and her son Elmer Jr. (Mary) Wheeler. Also surviving are three grandsons, two granddaughters, and 2 great-granddaughters. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by two sons; Leslie and James, and eleven brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 1, 2019 from the Kingsley Baptist Church at 11:00 a.m., Pastors Mike Brayton officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on Sunday beginning at 4:00 until 7:00 p.m., and continue on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will take place in the spring at Evergreen Cemetery.
