Gavin Michael Luther

Gavin was born on November 25, 1997 in Traverse City, the son of Michael Luther and Amy Rubin. He attended Buckley High School, class of 2016 and played a variety of sports over the years including baseball, track, soccer and basketball. Gavin was involved in 4H for 10 years and enjoyed taking part in the Northwestern Michigan Fair each year.

Gavin won the hearts of so many with his smile and passion for adventure. He loved the outdoors and spent most of his time hunting, fishing, trapping and exploring the woods. He prided himself on being a, “Redneck”. Born and raised on a farm. Gavin was true to his roots and his family. He loved country music, a bend in his cap and mud on his tires. Gavin took great pride in his pick-up truck, “Red Ferrari”.

Gavin managed to squeeze so much life out of seventeen years. He is a great example to us all of living life to the fullest. Gavin has forever impacted so many lives and will never be forgotten.

Gavin is survived by his parents, Michael (Patty) Luther and Amy Rubin; siblings, Levon Luther, Garrett Luther, MaKayla Luther, and Gabe Luther; step siblings, Jeffrey Jerrett, Jason Jerrett, and Logan Knorr; grandparents, John and Lynda Mannor, Jim and Karen Rubin, Carl Geiger, and Larry Luther; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends. His grandmother, Lennie Luther, preceded him in death.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 23, from 5 to 8 p.m. and on Friday, April 24 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., with his funeral service starting at 1 p.m., all at Buckley High School. Memorial contributions may be made to Gavin Luther at Honor State Bank in Buckley, MI.
