Alidiah Brianna Marie Simpson, 13, was received into the arms of our Heavenly father during the morning hours of Friday, June 29, 2018 at her residence with her family by her side after a courageous battle with DIPG. Alidiah was born on March 14, 2005 in Kingsport, TN to Ronald & Danielle Simpson.
Alidiah was a 7th grader at Jonesborough Middle School where she enjoyed playing volleyball. Alidiah was the strongest, bravest, little girl that always kept a smile on her face. She was very outgoing and loved everyone. She enjoyed crafts and painting. Alidiah was a loving sister, daughter, granddaughter, and friend to all; she will be sorely missed.
Alidiah was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Billy Crawford; maternal grandmother, Brenda Necessary; and paternal grandmother, Rinda Simpson.
Left to cherish her memories are her beloved parents who stood by her side during her courageous battle, Danielle & Ronald Simpson; two brothers, Hayden Crawford and Trevor Simpson; grandfathers, Larry Simpson and Tracy Necessary; great grandmothers, Edith Blakley and Emma Armstrong; aunts, Jennifer Tipton, Robin Smith, and Rhonda Simpson; special uncle, Billy Crawford; uncles, Reggie Simpson and Charles Ellis; special cousin, Alyssa Simpson; special friends, Angie Kidd and Andy Mount; several cousins and a host of friends.
The family will receive friends on Sunday (July 1, 2018) from 5 to 7 p.m. at Gunnings Baptist Church (199 Shipley Ferry Rd., Blountville, TN 37617). Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. with Pastor Bob Ferguson officiating.
Alidiah will be laid to rest on Monday (July 2, 2018) at noon in the Garden of the Mausoleum at East Lawn Memorial Park. Serving as pallbearers will be Marcus Simpson, Hunter Simpson, Trevor Simpson, Hayden Crawford, Kevin Lawson, and Tracy Necessary.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the faculty and staff of Jonesborough Middle School, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, and the staff of Wellmont Hospice for the love and affectionate care that was both given and shown to Alidiah during her courageous battle with DIPG.
