

Charles T. Williams, age 82, of Kingsport, passed away on Friday, September 12, 2025, at his residence. He was born on January 16, 1943, in Elizabethton. The son of the late John Williams and Sarah Oneil Williams Pullon. Charles dedicated his life to serving his country as a proud member of the United States Army. In 1982, he pursued his passion for spirituality by enrolling in Bible College, where he deepened his understanding of faith and community. Afterward, he transitioned into the field of public service, earning a degree in Criminal Justice from Walter State Community College. Charles began his professional journey as a police officer with the Kingsport City Police Department. His commitment to public service later led him to the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office, where he continued to make a positive impact. Charles was a devoted member of Apostolic Gospel Church. His family was the cornerstone of his life; he treasured every moment spent with them his grandchildren, in particular, brought him boundless joy. He also cherished his relationships with his nieces and nephews, who held a special place in his heart. Charles found happiness in activities that allowed him to be outdoors. Whether he was tinkering around his property, casting a line while fishing, or pursuing game during hunting trips, he embraced every opportunity to unwind in the fresh air. Music also filled his life with joy. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his step-father Scott Pullon and brother-in-law Mark Heard.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 38 years, Linda Beth Heard Williams; daughter Jennifer Wilson (Kenny); brothers Marvin Williams and Joe Pullon (Kathy); brothers-in-law Jimbo Heard (Carol) and Alan Heard; sisters Brenda Riddle, Bonnie Peters, and Cora Sue Beaumont; grandchildren Dakota, Kobe (KK), Kaden (Neveah), and Keegan; great-grandchildren Sequoyah, Manoah, and Annaleia; along with a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends that loved him dearly.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, from 12:00 noon – 1:45 pm at East Lawn Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow to celebrate Charles’s life at 2:00 pm with Brother Greg Street officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Zach Heard, Preston Heard, Jimbo Heard, Dakota Clamon, Kobe Trivett, and Kaden Trivett, with honorary pallbearers Cassie Heard and Jim Reynolds.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Kleisch and his nurses, Brittani and Laura, as well as to special caregiver Stephanie. They also extend their thanks to Preacher Greg Street, along with neighbors Everette Johnson and Jerry Evens, for all the care, love, and support provided during the last few days with Charles.
