Doris “Tootie” Crawford, age 77, entered into rest June 23, 2012 at her residence. Tootie was born in Dickson County, VA and was a longtime resident of Kingsport. She was a daughter to the late Emmitt and Neville Dickerson Cody. Tootie was retired from Holston Valley Community Hospital with thirty five years of service, and also had been employed with Dr. Ed Griffin for fifteen years. She is a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Tootie was also preceded in death by her husband, Bill J. Crawford. She is survived by two sons, Bill L. Crawford and wife Sherry, Robert Crawford and partner Ralph; three grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one brother Jim L. Cody of Surprise, AZ; three sisters, Marie Sterling of Daytona, FL, Sue Hobbs and Debbie Ernst both of Kingsport. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 26, 2012 at East Lawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army Angel Tree.
