Dorothy Jean Puckel

Dorothy J. Puckel, age 77, entered into the Lord Jesus Christ’s arms on September 12, 2012 at Wellmont Hospice House. She was born in Whitwell, Tennessee and had lived in Kingsport since 1962. Dorothy was a homemaker, and a member of Colonial Height Presbyterian Church. She had served as Vice-President of the Junior Women’s Club.

Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Daniel Bruce Puckel of Kingsport; two daughters, Paula Sue Puckel Burns and husband Jeff of Charlotte, NC, Dana Lee Puckel Lathan and husband David of Weddington, NC; two grandchildren, Ariel Nicole Lathan and Joshua Daniel Lathan; sister, Mary Sue Foley and husband William Lee of Knoxville; nephew, Mark Foley; two great nieces, Sara and Sydney Foley. A committal service will be held Monday, September 17, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the Columbarium of Colonial Heights Presbyterian Church. A memorial reception will be held in the Multi following the committal service. The Reverend Shane Smith will officiate. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to CHPC Renovation Fund or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
