

Earl Wright, age 84 went to be with the Lord on October 8, 2013 at Holston Manor Nursing Home. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. Freeman and Wilma Gillespie Wright, infant brother, his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Roy and Ida Olinger, a brother-in-law, Richard Carl Olinger. Earl served as Minister of Music at two different times at Sullivan Baptist Church and Boones Creek Baptist Church. He is a member of the Men’s No. 4 Sunday School Class at Indian Springs Baptist Church. He loved his church and enjoyed mowing and caring for the property. He retired from Smith Transfer in Bristol as Terminal Manager. After his retirement he worked for ABF Freightlines, A & M Express and East Lawn Funeral Home. He loved our United States and served in the Army in the United States and Germany. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Georgie Olinger Wright; cousins, Bob and Linda Sanders, their families; special granddaughter, Abby Weaver and many other cousins and friends. Visitation will be 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at East Lawn Funeral Home on Thursday, October 10th. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 p.m. with Brother Mike Morgan officiating. Music by Tom Allen, with soloist Shelia Sproles and Paul Patterson. Graveside services will follow at East Lawn Memorial Park by Dr. Dave Phillips. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Indian Springs Baptist Church or St. Jude Hospital. Pallbearers are friends and family. Honorary pallbearers are Men’s No. 4 Sunday School Class at Indian Springs Baptist Church, Lawrence Garland, and many other friends at Warriors Path Golf Course, also Isaac Whitehead.
