

Geneva Huff Robbins, age 83, entered into rest March 14, 2011 at Indian Path Hospital. She was born December 18, 1927, in Exeter, VA, to Ishmael and Myrtle Nantz Huff and had lived in Kingsport since 1968. Graduated from Appalachia High School, she was preceded in death by her 7 sisters and 3 brothers: Virginia Hopkins, Grace Hampton, Mossie Roberts, June Winters, Juanita Vetter, Jeanette Cannon, Vada Fay Huff, William McKinley Huff, Stanley Huff, and Ishmael Huff, Jr. Geneva worked a year at Bailey Isaac’s Dept. Store in Appalachia, VA, before she was married, and then worked for Zack’s Dept. Store in Baltimore, MD, during her first year of marriage. She was a homemaker with God’s gift of creativity. She was an active member of Kingsley United Methodist Church where she was involved in the United Methodist Women. She taught arts and crafts to many groups including Kingsport Adult Education. Geneva had been a volunteer in the Kingsley Elementary School and PTA, the American Red Cross, and the Cub Scouts. Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Jerry “J.D.” Robbins of Kingsport; two sons, Richard D. Robbins and wife Ruth of South Lake, TX, and Perry D. Robbins and wife Brooke of Kingsport; four grandchildren, Christopher, Matthew and wife Jessica, Justin, and Brett; one great-granddaughter, Matthew’s daughter Madelyn; and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday, March 17, at Kingsley United Methodist Church, with funeral services at 6 p.m. at the Church, 2828 Bloomingdale Rd., with Rev. Joe Barber officiating. Graveside services will be Friday, March 18, at 11 a.m. at East Lawn Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to Kingsley United Methodist Church.
