Jacob Shane Goforth

Jacob Shane Goforth, age 20, of Bluff City, passed away on Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at his residence after fighting a courageous battle with Duchennes Muscular Dystrophy. Jacob was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Gene Bolling. He graduated from Sullivan Central High School in 2009, and was a member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans John Mosley Group #1409. Jacob had some very special caregivers: Glen Rogers, Justus Frye, Whitney Snyder, Len Bailey and many, from the past. Jacob is survived by his mother, Stephanie Jean Bolling, of the home; maternal grandmother, Ella Mae Bolling, of the home; father, Terry Goforth and companion Sarah Brooks of Blountville; paternal grandparents, Bobby and Ina Goforth of Blountville, along with several aunts, uncles and cousins; his beloved fur babies: Bella and Bailey.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 16, 2013, in the Chapel of East Lawn Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Minister, Jamie Gladden, officiating. Graveside services will be held on Friday, May 17, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in The Sulphur Springs Cemetery. Everyone is asked to assemble at the funeral home by 10:15 a.m. to go in procession. Pallbearers will be Glen Rogers, Justus Frye, John Byington, Bill Holly, Cole Addison, Taylor Barker, Ronnie Hall and Michael Harvel. Honorary pallbearers will be Justin Goforth, Jeremy Gforth, Joey Pilkerton and Joey Krajeck. The family wishes to say a special thank you to Dr. Arthur Garrett and Connie, Dr. Ashok, Mehta, Dr. Mark Howell and a very loving teacher and friend, Nylene Jones. Also close to his heart were Lisa Hall and Nikki Addison who remained diligent in his fight.
